LuckGrib is a comprehensive and user-friendly GRIB reader, viewer, downloader, and weather router. It offers remote access to weather data via satellite or email, making it a valuable tool for sailors. The advanced weather routing capabilities provided by LuckGrib sets it apart from other apps designed for sailors.
One of the standout features of LuckGrib is its powerful weather analysis tools, which have attracted attention even from meteorologists. Downloads of weather forecast data can be done through various methods including direct high-speed internet connection, Iridium GO!, and RedPort Optimizer. LuckGrib supports multiple weather and ocean models including GFS, GDPS/GEM, GEFS, HRRR, NAM, Icon-EU, Arpège, Arome, OpenWRF, RTOFS, NCOM and many others. It even allows you to explore weather model uncertainty through standard deviation and probability values.
LuckGrib offers a 14-day free trial for those interested in studying weather and accessing detailed weather forecasts. However, please note that downloading data via satellite or email requires the Offshore Data in-app purchase.

One unique feature of the LuckGrib isochronal Weather Routing solver is its ability to respect intermediate constraint points - the first of its kind in the industry. Constraint points allow you to describe routes with crossings or express your preference to stay on a specific side of a strategic point. This feature is particularly useful for routes around islands or sailboat races like Fastnet and the Around Catalina Island race.
It's worth noting that LuckGrib does not operate on a subscription pricing model. After the free trial, users only need to make a one-time purchase of the app, rather than paying for an ongoing subscription.
